Mad Lit/Docs

Getting started

Mad Lit is a writing app for people who prefer Markdown over formatted editors. Your notes live in a cloud database, so they're accessible from any device — and a built-in Claude connector means you can read and write your notes from the Claude app without opening a browser.

Go to madlit.io and click Continue with Google. Mad Lit uses Google OAuth — there's no separate password to create or remember.

Your workspace

The sidebar on the left is your workspace. Pages live in sections (groups you create) or in the Inbox — the catch-all for unsorted pages. Click any page to open it. Click the + next to a section name to create a page inside it.

Create your first page

Click the + button at the top of the sidebar, or next to any section. Give the page a title and start writing. Markdown syntax works live in the editor — type a # followed by a space to create a heading, or use the toolbar that appears when you select text.

Next steps

Once you're comfortable with the basics, explore how to connect Claude to your workspace — it's the most powerful thing Mad Lit does.

Tip: Head to Writing & editing to learn about Markdown shortcuts and slash commands, or jump straight to Claude connector to set up the integration.
